Saks Fifth Avenue Richmond Event

I love traveling everywhere, who doesn't? One specific thing I look forward to when traveling is coming home to Richmond, VA. I am in love with this city: the people, the food, the places, the shopping, my home, and SO many more things I can't think of right now because I am a little hungover from too much snow day fun. Honesty is the best policy, right?

That being said, I wanted to let you guys in on a really cool perfume event tonight happening at Saks Fifth Avenue Richmond at the Stony Point Fashion Park. I know I am always talking about perfume on here because well, I'm effing obsessed with it. I love shopping for it, trying perfume on my own skin, and I ESPECIALLY love admiring my collection of perfume when I add a new one. I can't help this perfume obsession peeps, I was born this way.

If you love perfume as much as I do, you will be happy to hear that Bond No. 9 New York is hosting a happy (see what I did there?) hour from 6-8 tonight, March 22, with champagne. Not just champagne but also CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES. I am already giving myself permission to break my beach bod diet for this event. Who is with me?

Hope to see you lovely people there and if you can't make it, I've got you covered with my absolute favorite Bond No. 9 perfumes linked below!  xo Cath

Lately: Beauty Products Haul + Review

Ouai Rose Hair + Body Oil: Anything that has a rose scent is usually a go in my book but I LOVE this rose oil from Ouai. My hair tends to be a little on the dryer side since going platinum blonde and TBH, I look forward to putting this oil in my hair. Not only is the smell divine but it also locks in the moisture in my hair without being too greasy. The fact that this oil multi-tasks as a body oil is 5 star if you ask me.

Gucci "Bloom" Perfume: For most perfumes, I have a CLEAR threshold for the number of sprays that I can give myself without inducing a headache or suffocating my peers. (varies by scent of course..) I believe that this Gucci perfume is immune to such a threshold. I have been wearing this scent for months and I could bathe in it aka my number-of-sprays threshold does not apply to this perfume. The blend of Rangoon Creeper (reminiscent of a honey suckle but red and found in Asia), tuberose, and jasmine is one helluva concoction. I am not sure I have ever gotten more compliments on a scent either. Gucci FTW.

Aura Glow by Heritage Store with Jasmine: Whether the claims about this body treatment are true or not, I don't really care because I am 100% obsessed with this stuff. Not only do I love how the oil soaks into my skin leaving a nice glow without the nasty sticky feeling but I know it lights up my aura. I'm into that kinda thing and especially into it for this low price point.

DIY: Relaxing Flower Bath with Gillette Venus

This post was sponsored by Gillette Venus.

Self care is of the utmost importance these days ladies and while we don't always have the time or money to treat ourselves to a day at the spa, there are plenty of things we can do at home to keep us feeling our best. From a DIY relaxing bath at home to getting rid of unwanted hairs with Gillette, the options to feeling our best are endless! One of my favorite things to do when travel requirements and to-dos won't stop piling up on my calendar is to have a relaxing "self-care" evening at home. I usually carve out a full evening to do all the things for myself that I have been putting off because of lack of time. My self-care evening usually involves putting on a face mask, dry brushing, exfoliating, shaving any unwanted hair from my head to my toe with Gillette, and a herbal flower bath.

Is there anything better than smooth, clean skin? I love the new Gillette Venus Bikini trimmer guys. It is super cost effective and compact so that you can take it on the road with you to get rid of any unwanted hair.
I know a lot of you have been asking me about my flower baths and I am excited to share with you how simple my routine to create this bath is!

Here is how I create my flower bath:

  1.  Get a value pack of flowers and 5 pieces of various citrus fruit from from your local grocery store.
  2.  Cut the blooms off of each flower stem. If you leave the stem, keep in my that you will see it in your bath.
  3. Thinly slice each fruit down the middle. I usually use limes, lemons, grapefruits, and blood oranges if I can find them.
  4. Add Epsom Salt if you have any aches or pains from working out or an essential oil with a carrier oil such as almond oil. I chose to use a Rose essential oil with olive oil in this particular instance and it smelled divine!
  5. Enjoy your favorite book or beverage while soaking!

This is my reminder for you guys to take care of yourselves throughout your busy lives! I hope you take my advice loves! xo Cath

Favorite Perfumes Right Now

Perfume: you either love it or hate it ... and Cathclaire loves it.

I was looking at my perfume collection the other day and realized that I have collected a lot of perfume over the past few months. As I've gotten older, I've gotten less obsessed with having a signature scent (mine was Chloe for years and yes, I still always have a bottle on hand) and more into having perfumes for all the different versions of myself

If one day I wake up wanting to embrace my inner Beyonce, I spritz myself with Tom Ford "Fucking Fabulous,"if I wake up wanting to embrace my carefree spirit from college, I will spritz myself with Chloe, and if I wake up wanting to be reminded of the day I married my favorite person (wedding blog post here), I will spritz myself with Chanel "Beige." To be honest, the list goes on and on...and on and on.

With the style stage that I am in right now, it is just more fun to have a different perfume for my different moods versus sticking to one signature scent. Perfume is the invisible finishing touch of your look. It is a way to amplify your style and sometimes, even a way to make yourself stand out in a room full of people. Like I mentioned earlier, it is also a way to embrace different versions/aspects of yourself or memories. I wanted to share with you guys the scents that I have on rotation right now because it is probably one of the most common questions I get!

Beauty Review feat Glossier Body Hero

This is a big week you guys! It is my best friends wedding week and I am so excited to travel up to Baltimore aka Charm City to celebrate with one of my favorite couples! That being said, I am doing my own makeup for the big day and while I was packing my makeup bag, I decided toto share with you a review of some beauty products I've received and used lately!

 1. Glossier Body Hero: Emily Weiss always lures me in with a Glossier product launch and this Body Hero duo launch was no different. I ordered the Body Hero Daily Oil Wash and Daily Perfecting Cream the day they came out and was happy to find them arrive over the weekend.  Each product is packed full of yummy ingredients. The Daily Oil Wash has coconut, olive, sunflower seed, and meadowfoam oils.
The Daily Perfecting Cream is thick and creamy and leaves a glow on your skin that makes you want to carry it around everywhere! I will be honest and say I can live without the cleanser but I can not see myself going without the Daily Perfecting Cream anytime soon. The light neroli/citrus scent is something from the heavens! Have you guys tried either of the Body Hero products?
2. Browfood Aqua Brow Powder & Pencil Duo: I received this in a Voxbox and I have NOT stopped using it since. I have been growing my brows out and this brow powder has helped transform them from natural to bold. This powdery product is buildable and somehow creates a soft look versus leaving harsh lines like some brow products tend to do. I highly recommend this stuff!
3. Oribe Nail Lacquer: WIth a high dollar price point, I was immediately curious about this Oribe Nail Polish deal. I ordered lavender smoke determined to make it my signature nail polish (which is still in the works by the way....) but, after using it, I will say it is a great product. It will easily last a week with no chip and is free of parabens and formaldehyde. Your nails need love too!
4. Kate Somerville Exfolikate Glow Moisturizer: I am as picky as they come when it comes to moisturizers I put on my face. I am a La Mer junkie and have been for years but that hasn't stopped me from trying other stuff. I have been using this Kate Somerville Exfolikate Moisturizer in the mornings for the past couple weeks and I have been thrilled with it! I love the way it looks under makeup and it has helped even my skin tone. This Kate Somerville product is formulated without parabens and sulfates and has pineapple, pumpkin, and papaya enzymes to help renew skin cells through exfoliation! How cool, right?
5. Makeup Forever Artist Face Color Highlight Powder  : I have been using the blush, sculpting, and highlighting powder in this artist face color line from Makeup Forever and I am obsessed with the highlighting powder. It creates such a subtle highlight with little shimmer that I have been swapping it out for my setting powder. I love the long-lasting finish of this super fine powder and how it sits on my skin! It creates a natural canvas that is A+ in my book! There are 34 shades  (ranging from matte, shimmer, and pearl) of Artists Face Color and you can mix and match them however you please in their magnetic compacts!
Artist Face Color’s unique formula features atomized pigments, which provide intense color payoff while blending and diffusing for a natural, long-lasting finish. The super-fine powder melts into skin while also seamlessly layering for a natural, result. Available in matte, shimmer, and pearl finishes across 34 shades, Artist Face Color provides endless ways to enhance and define your features for your desired result.

Back to College Skincare Tips with Cathclaire

With Fall upon us and back to college season in full swing, life can get busy and taking care of yourself can fall to the back burner. I am here to remind you not to do that and to show you how I like to take care of my skin with Neutrogena®. All of my favorite products pictured above are shoppable from the first photo in this post! :)

My little sister just started her first year of college last week and I was reminded of how exciting of a time it is to go back to college. I helped her with a lot of her back-to-school shopping and one of the places we made multiple stops at was Target. I helped her download the Cartwheel app for more savings at Target and helped her get her skin care regimen together. Here are the tips I shared with her:

Regardless of your skin-type, there is a very important step in skin care that is often overlooked and that step is exfoliation. While exfoliation can be scary to some because it tends to be a harsher method for cleansing your skin, exfoliations purpose goes beyond cleansing. It helps turn over your skin cells and keep the skin on your face fresh and glowy and who doesn't want to be fresh and glowy for back to school or their first day on the job?  One of the exfoliators I like to use is this Neutrogena®  Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. This scrub is great because it has vitamin C and naturally derived grapefruit extract which keeps your skin clear without over drying or irritating your skin! If you like Neutrogena®  facial products, Buy 3 Neutrogena® facial skincare product, get a $5 gift card during August.

Like I mentioned earlier, exfoliators can be a little harsher on your skin than other facial cleansers so it is important to note that scrubbing products should be used 2x per week at most. To avoid over exfoliating, use a cleanser like this Clean & Clear®  Morning Burst Facial Cleanser when cleansing your face other days during the week. Like the name implies, this is a great product to use in the morning. The vitamin C and ginseng in this cleanser will wake you and your skin up in the best way! PS at Target right now, get 25% off when you buy one Clean & Clear® product!

Once you add the exfoliator to your skin regimen weekly or bi-weekly, not only will your skin be happy but you will also notice that you will need smaller amounts of products so your wallet will be happy too! Since exfoliation turns over your skin cells, it allows your skin to absorb your moisturizers and toners in a much more effective way. Same thing goes for foundation and makeup products, you will notice that without all of the dead skin cells on your face, your products go much further! How awesome is that?

While facial skin care is important, we can't forget about your body! Cleansing and exfoliating is just as important all over your body and this Neutrogena® Body Clear® Body Wash - Pink Grapefruit is a great product to use, not to mention the uplifting scent of grapefruit. I love the fresh grapefruit scent and the fact that is it naturally derived from grapefruits on top of that! The great thing about a body wash like this is that if you need some extra exfoliation, you can use a loofah to apply it in the shower! This will help activate the microclear technology in this Neutrogena® Body Clear® Body Wash - Pink Grapefruit even more so and provide you with fresh clean skin! Neutrogena®  and Clean & Clear®  have got you covered when it comes to going keeping your skin fresh throughout college and trust me, if you prefer other products, they have something for everyone! Head to Target ASAP to get your favorite products and don't forget to download the Cartwheel app for extra savings like we did when shopping for my sisters back to school necessities!

This post is sponsored by CLEAN & CLEAR® and NEUTROGENA®. I only recommend products I use personally and believe my followers will also enjoy! Some of the products mentioned were provided by CLEAN & CLEAR® and NEUTROGENA® for this review.

Dessange Paris: A Blonde's BFF

My fiancè and I went to see Collateral Beauty this past weekend (which I have been dying to see, Will Smith really does it for me with this genre of movies and let me tell you, he didn't disapoint this little heart of mine) and for once we got to Cinebistro, our theatre of choice - always, too early. Luckily Cinebistro is connected to Stony Point Fashion Park, so the two of us roamed around the mall. Two fabulous pairs of sunglasses and a delicious PF Changs meal later, I realized that I have never had so many compliments on the shade of my blonde hair.

How to Feel Parisian with Darphin

I am a skincare fanatic.

You name it in terms of skin magic potions, I have probably tried it or want to try it. Let it be known that I don't limit my skincare curiousity to organic concoctions or by any specific equation except for how it makes my skin (and I) feel. That's a pretty sound (and fun) rule of thumb, am I right?

I was very excited when I recieved these products compliments of Darphin Paris as a part of a #PreenMeVIP program because one way I like skincare to make me feel is Parisian. I've never been to Paris but these Darphin products make me feel like a French women walking the streets of the oh-so-fashionable city. From the beautiful package presentation, to the cleansing balm, to the quenching moisturizer, Darphin's beautifully curated skincare line has got it going on in a perfectly indulgent way. The minute you open any of their products, your senses will be hit with such aromas that you won't want to use it just once.
